Old site/domain has new design and needs new hosting. What do I do about email?

My old site needs new hosting with the new design. So I've gotten new hosting with Media Temple and it's live after switching the DNS. But no more emails. The old site and was hosted and domain was registered with Homestead. I'm missing something because this is my first time. Any ideas?

1. Make sure the mx records in you cpanel are set to point in your domain, and make sure there are no filters that are configured to block your mails
